The Matrix tool is designed to help users save and organize information into a matrix structure, useful when conducting comparative search tasks.

The Matrix tool is implemented in PHP and jQuery. The Matrix tool includes a number of features to support saving, organizing, reviewing, and montoring information found as part of a comparative search task:

  • Drag and drop text into matrix cells
  • Preview contents by mouse-over
  • Easy categorization of comparative information
    • Items stored in rows (e.g., models of SUV: Honda, Toyota, Jeep).
    • Comparision dimensions in columns (e.g., mpg, cargo space, safety rating
